Music from the Duke of Lerma 66

This is ms 66 from the book "Music for the Duke of Lerma: Cancoines of four, five, and six voices".  This book is from a manuscript which was the first collection of music for professional musicians, originally housed in a church in the village of Lerma in the North of Spain. Through a complicated series of circumstances, this music was revised for modern notation and republished in 2006 by Amherst Early Music.

A harp tune from Turlough O'Carolan, a 17th century Irish harper who bridged Irish folk music and baroque music. Pretty great stuff.  AA, 1/2 = 112.  From Nikolaus Newerkla's The Music of an Irish Harper, a collection of these tunes.

La Bounetta

A 16th century tune claimed to be from "the Mulliner book".  S(TO)A8B, half note at 95.  You can really hear the ocarina in this one.
